Job Title: Internal Technical Sales Administrator

Salary: £22,000 to £25,000 p.a.

Other Benefits: Annual Bonus

 

My client is a long established, Rochester based distributor of Fluid Power, Process and general engineering components, who supplies to local blue-chip end users and small to medium sized OEM’s. Due to growth, they now require additional staff in their modern sales office, and require an Internal Technical Sales Engineer to complement their existing team in handling day to day customer orders and enquiries.

About the Role:

The Internal Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for providing technical knowledge, advice and support to external customers, whilst developing and maintaining customer relationships and promoting products and services to maximise sales opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Deal with customer orders and enquiries appropriately and in a timely manner

Promote and advise on compatible products and services

Ensure customers are fully informed and are updated on availability of product, pricing and appropriate discounts and delivery timelines

Where lead times do not match customer, requirements investigate alternative parts to meet the customers` demands

Proactive contact with customer base on obsolescence issues as required by the business

Managing and interpreting customer requirements, promoting and advising on additional associated products on incoming sales enquiries

Demonstrate sufficient commercial awareness to negotiate prices, depending on the customer status, ownership and type of product; thereby maximising the margin achieved on the transaction

Ensure accuracy of orders before entering onto the Sage 200 system

Ownership and responsibility of customer issues to bring them to satisfactory conclusion

 

 About You:

Customer support and servicing skills

Knowledge of Microsoft office and data entry systems

Experience in similar sales / customer service environment is important

Good level of education is required, with at least GSCE`s in Maths and English (or equivalent)

ONC / HNC in electrical or mechanical engineering is highly desirable

Experience within an electrical engineering role, or a background in engineering distribution desirable.

Ability to provide practical solutions, solve problems and look for continuous improvements

Can work unsupervised or as part of a team to meet tight deadlines.

Lives in the Rochester area, or close by, in the easy to reach commuter area.
